Laid down in 1939, the USS Hornet (CV-8) was an aircraft carrier that service in the Pacific during World War II. Most notably, she was the launching point for the legendary Doolittle Raid in April of 1941. Ultimately, she was sunk during the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands in late 1942, making her the last U.S. fleet carrier ever sunk by enemy fire.

This 1/700 scale kit is a replica of the USS Hornet as it appeared during the Doolittle Raid and features textured deck detailing, a realistic superstructure, single-barreled anti-aircraft guns, lifeboats, and a selection of B-25 Mitchell bomber models. Assembly required. Skill level 2. Measures approximately 13¼" long.
