About the USS Ticonderoga
USS Ticonderoga was one of 24 Essex-class aircraft carriers built for the U.S. Navy during World War II, the fourth Navy ship to bear the name, itself named for the 1775 capture of Fort Ticonderoga during the American Revolutionary War.
