About the X-47B
First flown in 2011, the X-47B completed carrier operational testing through 2015, including launches and landings aboard USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) and in-flight refueling trials. Its folding wings let it fit within the confines of a carrier flight deck, and it was powered by a Pratt & Whitney turbofan engine, with two internal weapons bays rated for a combined offensive load of more than 2,000 kg.
