Developed as a tandem two-seat, interceptor fighter in 1960 for the U.S. Navy, the F-4 Phantom II proved rugged and effective enough in its first few years of service to be adopted into the regular fleet of both the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marine Corps. It was used extensively during the Vietnam War as the principal air superiority fighter for both the Navy and Air Force, and was the last U.S. fighter to attain ace status in the 20th century. The American military officially retired the F-4 in 1996.

This 1/155 scale, die cast model is a reproduction of an F-4B as it appeared with the VF-11 "Sundowners" stationed on the USS Coral Sea. It features engraved panel lines, a glazed canopy, a well-equipped cockpit, authentic markings, and a nameplate display stand. Measures approximately 5" long with a 3" wingspan.
