Since 1962, Italeri has supplied hobbyists with plastic scale model kits covering military aircraft, armor, ships, trucks, and cars — unlike the pre-built diecast pieces found elsewhere in this catalog, every Italeri release is an unassembled kit for builders who want to construct and finish the model themselves. Founded in Bologna, Italy, by two lifelong aviation and military enthusiasts, the brand has spent over six decades refining kits aimed at accuracy-minded modelers.

About Italeri

Italeri was founded in 1962 in Bologna, Italy, by Giuliano Malservisi and Gian Pietro Parmeggiani, both lifelong enthusiasts of aircraft and military vehicles who felt the scale kits available at the time didn't measure up. The company's first release, produced under the short-lived Aliplast label, was a 1:72 scale kit of the Italian Fiat G.55 fighter; the brand went through the names Italstamp and Italaerei before settling on Italeri. Over the decades, Italeri has also acquired the Supermodel and Protar model-kit brands, broadening its range beyond its original military and aviation focus.

What Makes Italeri Collectible

Italeri kits span military vehicles and aircraft — with particular depth in Italian and WWII subjects — alongside ships, motor torpedo boats, commercial trucks, and cars in scales from 1:72 up to 1:16. Because every kit is built and finished by hand, Italeri appeals to modelers who want direct control over paint, weathering, and detailing rather than a display-ready piece, and the brand's Photographic Reference Manuals on select kits add documented historical detail that helps builders get markings and finishes right.
